Flesh trade: 5 girls rescued from spa

Nagpur: The social service wing of crime branch rescued five girls from a spa-cum-salon at Mehadia Chowk in Dhantoli on Monday following a raid. During the operation, a woman manager named Lata was also apprehended. She was handed over to Dhantoli police station, where an offence was registered against her.
It is learnt that Lata used to operate the spa, where customers were also offered services of girls for sexual pursuits.The police team had first sent a decoy to the spa, and the raid was conducted after getting his signal.
Man held with mauser gun, two cartridges
A 37-year-old man, Shilvant Sontakke, was nabbed by the crime branch for possessing a Mauser firearm, a steel magazine, and two live cartridges after raiding his residence at Padole Nagar on Tuesday.

He was booked under the Arms Act, with the offence being registered at the Nandanvan police station.
The crime branch, following a tip-off, conducted the search, who had kept the firearms concealed inside an old leather bag. He was handed over to the Nandanvan police for further investigation.
Sr citizen killed, pillion injured in hit-&-run
A 64-year-old man, Arun Lonare, was killed after his scooter was hit by a speeding unidentified vehicle near the Samruddhi Zero Circle on Tuesday. His pillion rider, Deepchand Parteki, was seriously injured in the incident.

It’s learnt that Lonare and Parteki were going on their scooter towards the Zero Circle when the unidentified vehicle fled after hitting their two-wheeler. Lonare was declared dead, while Parteki is still fighting for his life. An offence was registered by the Hingna police. TNN
