PUDUCHERRY: The leader of opposition R Siva (DMK) sustained minor injury on the face when he accidentally slipped from the stage while participating in a protest organised by the party's women wing to condemn the Union government for failing to curb violence in Manipur on Monday in Puducherry.
Siva sustained bleeding injury on his forehead and underwent treatment at a private hospital.
He was discharged after treatment.
Siva was coming down from the stage after addressing the gathering and slipped from the last but first step and landed in an awkward position. He was taken to a private hospital where he was given two stitches and discharged.
Earlier, while addressing the gathering he said Manipur violence has brought shame to the country and the PM has remained silent since the violence broke out 70 days ago.
