Diu children bag 32 medals in South Asian taekwondo karate championship
Rajkot: Fourteen young athletes from the Union territory of Diu came up with a sterling performance at the recent UTFU Taekwondo Karate South Asian Championship 2024, in Vijayawada, winning 32 medals including 22 golds.
The players competed in various age groups, categories and weight classes in the championship, which saw participation from eight countries.

Diu secured third place with 32 medals. Nehal Joshi, the team manager, said, “The entire team worked hard for this championship. The girls bagged the most medals. Learning taekwondo is important as a self-defence technique.
Mohammed Faizan Qureshi of the Taekwondo Association of Daman & Diu, said, “Children won medals in all four categories.”
