13-yr-old girl raped, accused absconding

Varanasi: A 13-year-old girl was sexually assaulted, allegedly by her neighbor, under Ubhav police station in Ballia district on Wednesday. The girl’s mother lodged named FIR, invoking relevant sections of the law.
The girl’s mother accused her neighbour Alok Kumar of luring the girl to his residence and raping her. The mother, who had gone to the hospital to attend to her younger daughter admitted there, found the girl emerging from the neighbour’s house and she told her about the ordeal.
Ballia SP Vikrant Veer visited the crime scene.Police confirmed that the accused has been booked under Section 65(1) of the BNS Act and the POCSO Act. The accused was reported absconding and a manhunt was launched. tnn
