Two RPF jawans found dead on rly tracks in Ghazipur; murder suspected
Varanasi: Bodies of two RPF jawans, who were posted in Chandauli, were found lying on railway tracks in Gahmar area of Ghazipur district late on Tuesday night.
According to reports, the two jawans were on their way to Mokama in Bihar by Badmer Express for training. After preliminary investigation, officials suspect that the two had been murdered.
Ghazipur SP Iraj Raja on Wednesday said that the two bodies were found along railway tracks in Gahmar area, around one kilometre apart, on Tuesday late evening.

The deceased were identified as RPF constable Mohammad Javed of Devaitha village in Jamaniya of Ghazipur district and constable Pramod Kumar of Karath village in Tarari of Bhojpur (Ara) district in Bihar. RPF officials informed the police that both of them boarded Badmer Express from Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction in Chandauli on Tuesday afternoon to take part in a training programme at Mokama centre. The SP said that both bodies were sent for post-mortem and later handed over to their families on Wednesday late afternoon to perform last rites amidst state honours. He said that the police, along with GRP, were investigating the matter thoroughly and the mystery of how the duo fell from the train and died would be solved soon. Both the RPF constables, aged around 45 years, had to report at Mokama training centre. When they did not reach, the centre’s officials alerted officials of the force in PDDU Nagar. RPF senior commandant Jethin B Raj said when the CCTV footage of PDDU Junction was checked, both constables were seen boarding Badmer Express in the afternoon. Later, a search operation was launched, leading to recovery of two bodies in Gahmar area.
RPF officials said the cops are well trained for boarding and alighting even in emergency situations. Moreover, no clothes were found on one body, they added, suspecting that something went wrong with the duo inside the train. Apart from Ghazipur SP and RPF’s senior commandant, many other officials also inspected the site.

Police suspect suicide, but no note has been found.
