CM’s residence on Krishna bank faces threat of inundation
Vijayawada: Chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s residence on the banks of river Krishna faces the danger of inundation as water level touched the protective wall of the house and reached the bund road on Monday. Naidu has been staying in the rented house for the last eight years.
For the last three days, Naidu has been monitoring the flood relief works in the state from his house.

The 74-year-old has been visiting the affected areas in Vijayawada and other places from 7 am in the morning and directly supervising relief and rescue measures till late in the night.
On Monday evening, he visited Ajit Singh Nagar, one of the worst affected areas in Vijayawada city, and oversaw the relief and rescue works.
He reviewed the flood situation with officials of Guntur, Krishna, and Bapatla districts as the downstream areas of Prakasam barrage and the island villages are facing the threat of submergence.
Naidu spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah on Saturday and sought additional NDRF teams, Navy helicopters, and relief material.
Seven Navy helicopters, and 10 additional NDRF teams have reached the state from Tamil Nadu, Punjab, and Odisha and joined the relief operations. Around 110 speed boats are helping in rescuing stranded people and supplying provisions to the affected areas.

Drones have been pressed into action for supply of food, water, and medical kits. Drones are also being used for collection of information so that teams could be despatched where help was required. Energy department officials distributed solar lanterns in the affected areas on Monday.
IT and HRD minister Nara Lokesh monitored the situation from the command control centre, and asked party cadres to participate in rescue and rehabilitation works.
