VIJAYAWADA: Gudivada Two Town police traced a girl who went missing within 24 hours and handed her over to parents. The girl, who did not want to write her intermediate examinations, was upset after being reprimanded by her father, police said.
According to police, the girl (17) from Satyanarayanapuram in Gudivada town is a second-year intermediate student.
She was reprimanded by her parents for often playing on her mobile phone during exam time and not listening to her parent’s advice.
The girl who was offended, left the house on Thursday stating she was going to write her exam, and went missing since then.
As she did not return home by night, her parents searched for her at all possible places and lodged a complaint with the police later. A case was registered and a search launched.
The girl kept her mobile phone in airplane mode but was using social media. Police traced the girl to Guntur after 12 hours. She was found to have taken shelter in a hostel in Guntur. She was taken into custody on Friday and brought to Gudivada.
