Vijayawada: Amidst the devastating Budameru flood crisis, intrepid farmers from neighbouring villages have emerged as heroes, valiantly rescuing those stranded in the inundated city of Vijayawada. With conventional transportation rendered ineffective due to the deluge, these farmers have become veritable lifelines, delivering essential drinking water and sustenance to the marooned residents using their sturdy tractors.
The raging floodwaters from the Budameru river have effectively severed Vijayawada from its surrounding villages, leaving numerous residents trapped in their dwellings with no means of escape.
The predicament is especially perilous for the elderly and children, who, in the event of emergencies, can only be evacuated by boat. However, disheartening reports have emerged of some unscrupulous boat owners demanding exorbitant fees for rescue services, exacerbating the already formidable challenges faced by the beleaguered populace.
Rising to the occasion, magnanimous farmers from the villages of Pathapadu, Nunna, Ambapuram, and Jakkampudi have pledged their unwavering support to the city’s residents during these trying times.
