Speaking to TOI, government examinations director, D Devananda Reddy, said that a total of 6.62 lakh students will appear for the exams at 3,449 centres. "Spot evaluation will begin on April 19. A control room has been created at the directorate of government examinations. This will function round the clock on all the days till April 18 with a contact number of 0866-2974540," said Devananda Reddy.
The examinations director added that APSRTC officials have been requested to allow candidates with hall tickets to travel free of cost in any of the APSRTC buses from their residence to the examination centre on all examination days. "Considering the summer season, necessary instructions have been issued regarding water supply and deployment of medical teams and kits at the centres.
No one is allowed to carry mobile phones or other electronic devices into examination centres, even including the chief superintendent and departmental officers. The decision has been taken to prevent misuse of devices and to curb the leakage of question papers," added Devananda Reddy.

Section 144 would be imposed in and around the examination centres. Police department has been requested to deploy 'mobile police squads' to visit all the vulnerable examination centres to check rumours regarding leakage of question papers, fake question papers, etc.
The government has decided to extend the barcoding system for all the subjects, including OSSC and vocational public examinations. Because of coding, the examiner who values the answer scripts will not know the identity of the students. The DEOs have been asked to conduct orientation/training programme for all the chief superintendents /departmental officers/bar-code supervisors and invigilators on coding system so that they shall not commit any mistakes during examinations.
