Lok sabha Elections Schedule 2024

The Election Commission has announced the schedule for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The Lok Sabha polls, the world's largest electoral exercise, are set to unfold in seven stages over a 44-day period, starting on April 19.

The counting of votes will take place on June 4.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is pursuing a third consecutive term, which will help him equal the record of first PM Jawaharlal Nehru.

Voter statistics: Over 97 crore eligible voters (49.7 crore male, 47.1 crore female).
Polling booths: More than 10.5 lakh locations.
Total election duration: 82 days from announcement to results.

Phased voting schedule:

Phase 1 (April 19): 102 constituencies across 21 states/UTs; 10 states/UTs conclude polling.
Phase 2 (April 26): 89 constituencies across 13 states/UTs.
Phase 3 (May 7): 94 constituencies across 12 states/UTs.
Phase 4 (May 13): 96 constituencies across 10 states/UTs.
Phase 5 (May 20): 49 constituencies across eight states/UTs.
Phase 6 (May 25): 57 constituencies across seven states/UTs.
Phase 7 (June 1): 57 constituencies across eight states/UTs.
