KMT organised an all-women trip to Panhala Fort on Women’s Day
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Kolhapur Municipal Transport Corporation organised a free tour to Panhala Fort for women. Spearheaded by Mayor Nilofer Azarekar and Commissioner Dr. Mallinath Kalshetti, the initiative saw three buses decorated with colourful balloons taking women wearing Maharashtrain saffron phetas going for a ride. Their journey which kicked off from Shahu Maidan Bus Control Centre and inaugurated by Transport Committee Chairman, Pratiya Mahesh Utture.

The women were welcomed with bouquets and after the trip, they were served delightful traditional Maharashtrian dishes.
At the occasion, Kalshetti made a promise to keep Kolhapur clean, green and plastic-free. He even urged women to participate in the plastic liberation campaign. Women and Child Welfare Committee chairman Shobha Kawale, Transport Committee members Ashok Jadhav, Shekhar Kusale, Shailaja Shekhar Kusale, Mahesh Vasudev, Chandrakant Suryavanshi, Yashwant Shinde, Prasad Ugway, former chairman of Standing Committee Adil Farash, Mahesh Uttashore, Additional Transport manager, traffic inspector Ravi Dhupkar, Project Officer Purnendu Gurav, Maintenance Engineer Amar Singh Mane, Labor Officer Sanjay Inamdar, Station Head BB Chandan also took part in the event.
