In the next few hours, the trailer of NTR Jr’s latest film Devara Part 1 will be revealed to the audience for the first time but even before that, the man and his stardom has captured the North American box office. Devara has by now crossed the US $1 million mark in the total advance booking for the film in North America (USA + Canada), with total sales standing at US $1.05million ( Rs 8.81 crore) making it the first Indian film to do so in 2024, even without its trailer being released. Of the total collection, about US $ 850,000 (Rs 7.13 crore) is from the premiere shows in United States of America. The film has amassed this total by selling over 28000 tickets, while US $ 55,000 (Rs 46 lakh) is from the Canada circuit, and the rest business is from the sale of tickets over the weekend. This number is just from the Telugu version of the film and it seems like Devara is releasing only in one language in this circuit and not in Tamil and Hindi. Even Thalapathy Vijay's The Greatest of All Time was released in the circuit only in Tamil and Telugu languages.
The film marks Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor's Telugu debut. On Saif’s birthday, August 16th, the makers had unveiled his first look as Bhaira. The entire team of the film shot for a special episode for Kapil Sharma’s show on Monday.
Devara was supposed to be one film but a couple of months back the makers decided to split it into two parts. While Saif plays the villain in the first part, Bobby Deol will be joining him in the sequel. The makers also released a new song called Devudi few days ago, which sees Janhvi matching steps with NTR Jr, and the song has already become a rage on social media platforms with Shekar Master - the choreographer of the song also joining the bandwagon.
