The Indian diaspora is always looking for ways to keep in touch with India, Indians and among themselves. Currently there are very few news sites that provide comprehensive coverage of stories about NRIs.We invite citizen journalists from all walks of life to send us reports (text, images and videos) on the following:
- 1Cultural shows organised by the Indian community.
- 2Seminars, Round-table conferences & professional conclaves involving the Indian diaspora.
- 3Campus festivals and culture shows involving Indian students.
- 4Achievements made and awards received by eminent NRI professionals/students.
- 5Human interest stories pertaining to the Indian diaspora.
Selection Criteria
Citizen Journalists’ reports will be selected based on their reports on the subjects mentioned above. The news reports submitted under the 'NRI Citizen Journalists' section will be reviewed by The Times Of India editorial team and will be published after its approval.The first title you will receive is that of a 'TOI contributor'. You will have to get at least one news report published under the 'NRI Contributor' section to qualify as a 'TOI Contributor'.
Once your 11th news report gets published under the 'NRI Contributor' section, you will automatically be promoted to the 'TOI Associate' level.
To become a 'TOI Brand Ambassador', you will need to get at least 21 news reports published. All 'TOI Brand Ambassadors' would receive special certificates each from us by post.
