Asian Champions Trophy, India vs Korea Highlights: India stay unbeaten, beat Korea 3-1

India, who have already qualified for the semifinals, will take on archrivals Pakistan in the fifth and last league match after a rest day (Sept 13) in the tournament.

A brace by Harmanpreet Singh and a goal by promising striker Araijeet Singh Hundal gave India a 3-1 win over South Korea, which keeps the defending champions unbeaten and on top of the points table, having registered wins in all four matches now.

59th: Korea clame close twice in the last two minutes, but the Indian defenders haven't lost shape, remained calm to just combine and clear the ball out of danger area. India 3-1 with under two minutes left to play.

56th min: Korea adding some pace to their attacks, with just over three minutes left on the clock. But India's defence holding tight.

52nd min: India doing well to keep their defence intact, as Korean's running out of time while chasing the game. India lead 3-1.

49th min: Medical staff on the ground to take a look, and the Korean is being taken of the field. Hopefully, nothing serious.

48th min: India have come out attacking, trying to add another cushion to their lead.

Skipper Harmanpreet Singh scores his second goal to restore India's two-goal lead with 15 minutes left to play in the match.

43rd min: India get the cushion back, thanks to Harmanpreet, who changed his angle to beat the Korean goalkeeper to his right with a grounder. India lead 3-1 now.

42nd min: Raj Kumar continues to have a great tournament, creating chances for India with some breathtaking stick-work. Unfortunately, the finish wasn't there from Gurjot who was right in front of the Korean goal to receive that ball. India lead 2-1.

40th min: A Korean defender's attempt to clear the ball out of harm's way finds a teammate's foot in the way inside the circle. India attempt a variation in set-piece, not the best routine and came to nothing. Chance wasted by India.

38th min: India have repaired the little cracks in their defence in the third quarter that allowed Korea a lot of circle entries. But it's still 2-1 to India, and the Koreans too can be lethal on counters. No breathing space for the Indians.

34th min: Soft error by Indian defence. Early danger for India. Ball hits the Indian rusher, another PC to Korea. That's safe too. India stay 2-1 ahead.

32nd min: India have returned with their full-press tactics, hoping to add to their 2-1 lead.

Korean can take confidence from the fact that they not only kept India goal-less in the last 15 minutes after Araijeet and Harmanpreet scored in the first quarter, but also controlled the ball better in the second quarter, which led to the goal in the final few seconds before half-time hooter.

Korea score off a penalty corner as a deflection off the rushing Manpreet sold a dummy to Suraj Karkera, giving the Koreans their first goal through the tournament's top-scorer Yang Jihun.

20th min: Korea have done well to not control the game in the last 10 minutes. But they haven't been able to find a goal to cut India's 2-0 lead.

23rd min: Harmanpreet isn't happy with the umpire's decision to award a PC, and has asked for a video referral. Replays show the ball hit the Korean foot before the ifringement by India. PC overruled! Free hit to India.

5th min: Koreans controlling the ball a lot better in the seocnd half, challenging India in the channels and succeeding to enter the 23 yard repeatedly. India up 2-0.

17th min: A promising foray by the Koreans into the Indian circle produces a shot at goal, but away from target as Suraj Karkera sees the ball whiz past across the goal mouth. India lead 2-0.

Araijeet and skipper Harmanpreet gave India the early goals, as India's full-press tactics have kept the Koreans under the pump in the first 15 minutes of the match.

12th min: India continue with overload on their attacks, putting the Koreans under the pump. That's what has given the defending champions the 2-0 lead.

9th min: India score off their first penalty corner through Harmanpreet Singh, who conversion rate with drag-flicks on set-pieces continues to be one of the best in the world.

8th min: Brilliant ball from Vivek Sagar Prasad, which finds Hundal unmarked about two yards inside the circle, and his rasping hit beats the Korean goalkeeper.

6th min: India pressing high, and Abhishek once again with a chance to have a shot on goal. He does this time, with a reverse hit, but way over the bar.

3rd min: India with their first circle entry, and Abhishek almost had a shot on goal, but took that split second more and was checked. Meanwhile, a Korean player is on the ground and being attended to by their medical staff.

2nd min: Opening exchanges - The Koreans have left just one centre forward lurking in the Indian half. Clearly they don't want to concede an early goal and let India take control with their full press.

1st min: And we are away! India in their traditional blue and South Korea in red.

We are just over two minutes from pushback, as the National Anthems will be sung shortly, before the players take their respective positions on both sides of the pitch.

At half-time, the Japan vs Malaysia game is locked at 2-2.

Sitting behind India on the points table at No.2, the Koreans too haven't lost any match so far. However, as opposed to India's three wins, they have just one, while their other two matches ended as draws -- which gives them 5 points. Pakistan are at the third spot with five points as well, but behind the Koreans on goal difference.

India, who are currently unbeaten in the tournament, are on top of the leaderboard with 9 points from three wins in as many matches. Top four teams qualify for the semifinals at the end of the round-robin league.

India have so far scored 16 goals in three matches and conceded just two. The heartening aspect of that has been the majority of goals have been scored off field efforts as opposed to set-pieces on penalty corners.

India defeated China 3-0 to open their campaign and followed it up with even more comprehensive wins against Japan (5-1) and Malaysia (8-1) to extend their dominance.

It's India's fourth game of the round-robin league today as they take on South Korea to extend their unbeaten run so far in the tournament, which has taken them to the semifinals already.
