Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

The recent ceasefire violations and attacks on security forces, specially the one near Army headquarters in Uri, forced India to take a stern stand against employment of Pakistani talent in the country. While the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association took the first step of officially banning Pakistani artistes, many projects were jeopardized, the worst hit being Fawad Khan-starrer, Karan Johar's 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil'. MNS was the first organization to threaten against the screening of the movie, and a few states followed suit by declaring that they will not screen the movie. This was followed by a lot of reactions, and Karan Johar finally broke his silence through a video where he said that he will not work with Pakistani artistes anymore, and that for him, country comes first, but this movie should be allowed to release since it was shot last year, when India-Pakistan relations were not strained. Film producer Mukesh Bhatt, among others, met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday, October 20, where he promised smooth release and screening of the movie.
