The British Aerospace 146 plane carrying the first division Chapecoense football team crashed in Colombia killing 71 passengers on board. The flight took off from Bolivia and was carrying the team to Medellin in Colombia for the 2016 Copa Sudamericana Finals. On July 14, 2016, a large white truck drove into a crowd of people celebrating Bastille Day in the southern French city of Nice. The driver of the truck also opened fire before being shot dead by the police. The attack killed 84 people and wounded several hundreds. The perpetrator was identified as Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, a 31-year-old Tunisian man. In the days that followed, Islamic State took responsibility for the attack, referring to Bouhlel as a "soldier" of the group without naming him. (Reuters photo)
