AGRA: A final-year engineering student at a college affiliated with Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar University was abducted, taken near an intersection on the Agra-Delhi highway, and raped in a moving car by a former student of the same college, police said on Monday. Agra police have launched a manhunt for the suspect.
The survivor told police that the senior, who recently graduated from the same institution, pulled her into his car, tied her hands and assaulted her before abandoning her on the roadside in a semi-nude state on Saturday night.
The next day, she reported the incident to Sikandra police station, where an FIR was registered following her medical examination. She also said after she rejected his advances while in college, he retaliated by filing false complaint against her with department head.
Sikandra SHO Neeraj Sharma said, "An FIR registered against the accused under BNS sections 64(1) (rape), 127(2) (wrongful confinement), and 351 (criminal intimidation)."
