Ahmedabad: Diwali season is about to take off with a bang as the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) airport in Ahmedabad unveils new direct flight options to tourist destinations within the country.
The airport operator’s exciting announcement includes flights to four destinations: Jaisalmer in Rajasthan, Diu, Port Blair in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and Agra in Uttar Pradesh.
These flights began operating on Sunday, coinciding with the commencement of the winter schedule by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). “Indigo Airlines has opened bookings for daily direct flights to Jaisalmer and Diu. This new addition allows travellers to explore the captivating historical sites and beautiful beaches of Diu, as well as experience the allure of Jaisalmer, the Golden City,” the airport operator stated.
In addition, Alliance Air is expanding its reach by adding Indore to its destinations, with direct flights thrice a week. It also resumed operations in the Agra sector.
SpiceJet now offers a daily through flight via Chennai, connecting Ahmedabad to the picturesque island getaway of Port Blair. But that’s not all. The existing destinations have become even more accessible. SpiceJet is increasing the frequency of its direct flights to Dubai from seven to nine times a week. Singapore Airlines is also stepping up with a daily direct flight connecting Ahmedabad to Singapore.
