Urs: Gori family hoists flag at dargah in Ajmer
Ajmer: The 812 yearly Urs of Khwaja Moinuddin Chisty started from Tuesday as the Gori family from Bhilwara hoisted the flag on Monday evening. The Dargah Bazaar and surrounding area is lit up and witnessing a large number of devotees amid shivering cold.
The Pakistani delegation of devotees will reach Ajmer on January 14 through a special train from the Atari border.

Meanwhile, Kalandars from Delhi will reach Ajmer in the coming days to give their offerings in the dargah as per the tradition.
The formal Urs will commence with the sighting of the moon and the ‘jannati darwaja’ will be opened for devotees. From Tuesday, the dargah remained open for the whole day as the number of devotees increased. “Most of the devotees wanted to avoid the rush and therefore reached Ajmer earlier to offer prayers and return,” said Syed Nadeem Ghani Chisty, a khadim.
The administration made arrangements for devotees at Kayar Vishramsthali on Jaipur road where all buses will be parked and waterproof tents for devotees have been set up. tnn
