RSGPC, ad hoc objects to the appointment of in-charge Dharam Parchar by SGPC in Rajasthan
AMRITSAR: The simmering resentment against the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has escalated with regard to its appointment of an alleged controversial in-charge of the Dharam Parchar Committee (DPC) in Rajasthan Tajinder Singh Timma prompting the Rajasthan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (RSGPC), ad hoc, to initiate an agitation against SGPC's perceived encroachment into their affairs.

Hardeep Singh Dibdiba, president of the RSGPC, ad hoc, informed on Saturday that they had appealed to both the jathedar of Akal Takht, Giani Raghbir Singh, and SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami, expressing their reservations and opposition to the appointment of Tejinder Singh Timma as the incharge of DPC in Rajasthan.
Drawing attention towards significant concern surrounding Tejinder Singh Timma he questioned SGPC's decision to appoint him as the incharge DPC in Rajasthan.
He further alleged that Timma had allegedly been involved in police cases, which raises serious questions about his suitability for such a responsible religious role.
Notably, there are 19 historical gurdwaras in Rajasthan which are being managed by different trusts.
He further alleged that Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), using its alleged influence on SGPC, got Timma appointed in the Rajasthan ahead of assembly election so as to indirectly help BJP to seek certain political favours from BJP.
The RSGPC, ad hoc team held a meeting and appealed to jathedar of Akal Takht and SGPC president so that no damage was done to the Sikhs reputation in Rajasthan and if they didn’t intervene then we would initiate an agitation and also give "political" reply.
He said they would give a call to Sikhs aligned with RSGPC, ad hoc to not extend support to the political party which was taking help from SAD backed SGPC.
Despite repeated attempts, Timma couldn't be contacted for his reaction.
Dibdiba said the RSGPC, ad hoc, had already given a call to the Sikhs of Rajasthan to support the political party that would assure them to exclude the management of gurdwara’s from the purview of Devasthan Department and early resolution of Sikh religious issueds including that of Gurdwara Budha Johad.
