A pilot from Pakistani airline Serene Air was captured cleaning the windscreen of an airplane from the outside just before takeoff. The unusual sight, captured in a video that has gone viral, has elicited a variety of responses from viewers.
The video shows the pilot leaning out of the aircraft to wipe the window clean before returning to the cockpit.
According to reports, the incident occurred on an Airbus A330-200, which is used by Serene Air for international flights between
Pakistan and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Passengers who were waiting to board the flight recorded the unusual scene and could be heard making lighthearted comments about the pilot's actions.
One passenger jokingly remarked, "Poor pilot is cleaning the window. He can also clean my car—bless him."
Another user commented, "I bet you can't clean your car's front glass the way the Serene Air pilot cleans his plane's windscreen."
Suggesting that cleaning the windshield is a pilot's primary responsibility, one comment said, "Finally, I found a pilot who is doing his job properly. Cleaning the windshield is a primary job for a pilot; flying the plane is just a minor task. Pakistan shows the way to the world!"
Some users took a more lighthearted approach, with one joking that the pilot earns extra money by cleaning windshields. Another user defended the pilot's actions, saying that it’s a common practice to clean glass of vehicles.
