A tragic incident occurred in Australia's Netherby, located in Adelaide's inner south, where an 18-month-old girl was fatally struck by a vehicle at approximately 8am (local time) on Friday morning. The child was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries but later succumbed to them.

However, Major Crash investigators were dispatched to the scene to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash, as reported by ABC News.
Michael Angelakis, a neighbor, expressed his condolences to the girl's family, describing the incident as "tragic". He said, "To have something like this in your backyard just absolutely shocks you to the core." He further added, "It's the worst thing."
According to South Australia Police, the driver of the vehicle is cooperating with the investigation and has been taken to the hospital for mandatory testing. Rentoul Avenue, which was closed following the incident, has since been reopened.
This tragic death marks the 59th fatality on South Australia's roads in 2024.
