Crocodile attack claims 55yo farmer’s life in Kheri
Bareilly: A 55-year-old farmer was killed by a large mugger crocodile near Sharda river drain in the Majhgai range of Dudhwa Tiger Reserve, located in Lakhimpur Kheri district, on Tuesday. His partially eaten body was found on Wednesday.
Chaudhary Lal, a resident of Nayapurva village, had gone to his farm with his brother Gaddan Lal. While near a natural drain of the river, a large crocodile suddenly emerged and dragged him into the water.

His brother immediately alerted locals and the forest department, prompting a rescue operation.
However, the drain’s depth and muddy conditions impeded the rescue effort, as there were no expert divers available. The body was sent for autopsy, and locals have been advised to avoid the area.
