The development of Sarsi resort follows the successful establishment of a similar project on Sailani island. "With this new addition, Madhya Pradesh Tourism aims to provide visitors with a distinctive and immersive experience in a picturesque setting," said managing director, MPSTDC, Ilayaraja T.
The resort is situated on an island in the midst of a serene lake (Son river), offering a tranquil and secluded atmosphere for guests seeking a peaceful retreat. "The island's natural beauty has been carefully preserved during the construction process, ensuring that the resort blends seamlessly with its surroundings. Sarsi resort will feature a range of accommodations to cater to different preferences and budgets," added MD Ilayaraja T.
Visitors can choose from 10 well-appointed rooms, suites, and cottages, each designed to provide comfort and convenience. More rooms will be constructed in the future, said MD Ilayaraja T.
One of the highlights of Sarsi resort is its stunning location. The island is surrounded by crystal-clear waters, creating a picturesque backdrop for relaxation and recreation. Guests can enjoy breathtaking views of the lake and the surrounding landscape from the resort's various vantage points, he added.

To ensure a memorable stay, Sarsi resort will offer a wide array of amenities and activities. Visitors can indulge in delicious local and international cuisine at the resort's restaurant, which will showcase the flavours of Madhya Pradesh. The resort will also feature a well-equipped fitness centre and a gym, allowing guests to maintain their wellness routines or pamper themselves with rejuvenating treatments.
For those seeking adventure, Sarsi resort will provide a range of water-based activities. Guests can explore the lake on kayaks or pedal boats, enjoying the serenity of the surroundings. The resort will also organise guided nature walks and bird-watching sessions, allowing visitors to discover the island's diverse flora and fauna, said Ilayaraja T.
The resort has been designed with eco-friendliness in mind, incorporating renewable energy sources and efficient waste management systems. "We will have 40 kW solar panels at the resort," said Ilayaraja T. By minimising its environmental impact, Sarsi resort aims to preserve the natural beauty of the island for future generations.
The inauguration of Sarsi resort is eagerly anticipated by both locals and tourists alike. The resort is expected to boost tourism in the Shahdol district, attracting visitors from across the country and beyond.
