ERODE: A man in
Tamil Nadu’s Erode district killed his pet dog after it relieved itself on his new sandals. The Chennimalai police on Saturday registered a case against AK MSD Dinesh of Engur based on a complaint lodged by animal enthusiast D Prem Kumar.
In his complaint, Prem Kumar stated, "AK MSD Dinesh of Engur posted on his Facebook page that he had killed his pet dog after it had relieved itself on his newly bought sandals.
He disposed of the carcass in a dumpyard in the area," the complainant said. Prem Kumar stated that he spotted the dog's carcass in the dumpyard in Engur village on Friday evening
Prem Kumar lodged the complaint with the police on Saturday and submitted the Facebook post as evidence. The police registered a case under Section 429 (mischief by killing or maiming cattle, etc) of the IPC read with Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
"We have launched a search for the accused," said S Priya, a sub-inspector at the Chennimalai police station.
