Dehradun: In the matter of accusations put forth by local Congress leader Abhinav Thapar concerning alleged corruption in hoarding tenders issued by the Dehradun Nagar Nigam (DNN), the Uttarakhand high court, while finally disposing of the petition, instructed the state and DNN to submit an action report on the investigation committee's findings within four weeks.

The next hearing is scheduled for Dec 3.
The petitioner claimed that there has been a scam of several crores in hoardings and unipoles over the past 10 years.
"In 2023, representations were made to the secretary of urban development and the mayor of Dehradun, but no action was taken," the petition said. It also was stated that a survey committee was formed in 2019, which reported 325 illegal hoardings, but no action was taken against the companies illegally collecting revenue.
During the previous hearing, the Nagar Nigam had apprised the court that the illicit hoardings had been eliminated.
