Piles of garbage, stagnant water raise health concerns in Sector 43
Gurgaon: Residents of Sector 43 have complained of unsanitary conditions in their neighbourhood, accusing HSVP and MCG of mismanagement.
Several vacant plots in the area have transformed into overgrown jungles, hindering residents' right to clean and safe surroundings. "Most of these vacant plots are now eyesores, covered in undergrowth and trash. The entire sector looks shabby," said RWA general secretary Narender Mehta.

Stagnant water has also accumulated in these neglected plots, becoming a breeding ground for mosquitoes and increasing the risk of mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue and malaria.
In addition to this, both residential and commercial plots have become makeshift dumping grounds, they said, adding that piles of garbage due to illegal dumping has put their health at risk.
This situation arose as some of the plots were either not developed by owners or have not been auctioned by HSVP, residents said, criticising HSVP and MCG for passing the buck to each other and not stepping up to tackle the situation while people suffered.
"The situation is pathetic," said Colonel RS Sirohi (Retd), President of the Sector-43 RWA. "Illegal dumping of debris is rampant, turning these plots into a breeding ground for mosquitoes. If the administration doesn't step in soon, it could lead to a major health crisis."
He also expressed concern over HSVP's lack of action. "We were promised action, yet nothing has materialised on the ground. The situation is only getting worse."
Meanwhile, an official from HSVP said directions had been issued to take action as per the rules. "The matter was brought to our knowledge and needful will be done," the official said.
