According to police, the situation escalated after the duo had a heated argument with Satish while playing Holi.
Public Prosecutor Sumit Saini said that both the accused and the victim were from the Reendhka village and added that the duo targeted Satish and his family intentionally. Despite the accused's claims of innocence, they could not present any evidence in their defense. The next day after the incident, Ranbir was arrested. During interrogation, he admitted his involvement in the crime and helped police recover the knife used for the murder.
A case was registered under IPC sections 324 (voluntarily causing hurt), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 302 (punishment for murder), and 34 (common intention) and relevant sections of the Arms Act at the police station in Hathin, Palwal. In his order on Friday, Palwal session judge Puneesh Jindia denied leniency to the accused, considering their age, character, and the nature of the crime.
