Guwahati: A Special Task Force (STF) team of Assam Police seized suspected heroin and apprehended two persons in Guwahati during a raid on Saturday morning.
Acting on reliable information, the STF led by DSP Satyendra Hazari captured Bilal Ali, aged 27, from Kalipur Railway line near Bharalumukh. “The STF team recovered 11 vials containing suspected heroin having a total weight of 17 grams, one mobile handset and Rs 1200 cash ,” said Pranab Jyoti Goswami, the CPRO of Assam Police.

Ali confessed during interrogation that the drugs were procured from Raja Ali, who resides in Bhutnath near Kali Mandir in Guwahati. The STF then nabbed Raja Ali as well.

Retail prices for milk in Guwahati to go up by 3 per litre from tomorrow
From September 1, milk prices in Guwahati will increase by Rs 3 per litre, making the retail rate Rs 67 per litre. The hike follows a rise in raw milk prices by cattle breeders due to higher feed costs. Milk-based product prices in the city are also expected to be affected.
