Guwahati: Biren on Monday dismissed rumours that his Mizoram counterpart has been appointed as an interlocutor for peace talks in the state. Biren clarified in the assembly that a brief exchange with Lalduhoma at the recent NITI Aayog meeting in Delhi was “blown out of proportion” by some individuals and appealed to the media and social media influencers to refrain from publishing unsubstantiated news content.
“I met the CMs of Nagaland, Assam and Mizoram during the NITI Aayog event and during a casual interaction with the
Mizoram CM, I had asked him to visit our state,” Biren said. tnn
