Hubballi: Union minister Pralhad Joshi has expressed regret over the sexual assault of a woman in Bengaluru and termed it “an insult to the state of Karnataka”.
Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, Joshi criticised the govt’s move of remaining silent over the incident in which a young woman was allegedly sexually assaulted at HSR Layout in Bengaluru.
“The govt should intend to protect women by ensuring severe punishment for the accused ,” he pressed.
Reacting to the Muda case, he said the Congress had been involved in corruption right from the time of Nehru to Manmohan Singh. “There is no wonder the party stands with Siddaramaiah. If Siddaramaiah is innocent, he should cooperate with the investigation by quitting the CM post,” he challenged. TNN
