Imphal: Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), which has five legislators, is all prepared for Rahul Gandhi’s 6200-km ‘Bharat Nyay Yatra’ which will begin from the violence-hit state on January 14.
Expressing happiness over the launch of the Yatra from Manipur, MPCC senior spokesperson Ningombam Bupenda Meitei said the people of Manipur are heartily waiting for Rahul.
“What a great day today to hear from @kcvenugopalmp ji and @Jairam_Ramesh ji in announcing the continuing #BharatJodoYatra @bharatjodo from Manipur to Mumbai,” tweeted Bhupenda , also the AICC vice chairman, ( All India Fishermen Congress).
“The entire people of Manipur and the lakhs of @INCManipur workers are heartily waiting for @RahulGandhi ji in Manipur,” he said. He added that MPCC is keeping constant touch with AICC to ensure BNY begins with a flying start.
“The exact location from which the Yatra will be flagged off and other key aspects like routes are to be finalized soon,” Bupenda said.
AICC president Mallikarjun Kharghe will flag off the Yatra from Imphal. It is set to conclude on March 20 after covering 14 states and 85 districts. The BNY is Rahul’s second march after his ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ last year.
MPCC president and senior legislator Keisham Meghachandra said AICC leaders K Venugopal and Jairam Ramesh, party MPs, present and former CMs, intellectuals, social workers and other leaders will join BNY.
