Three-day Founder’s Day celebrations in Jamshedpur from today

Steel City residents can see the illumination from the Jubilee Park which will open from 5 pm to 6.30 pm for three days from March 3 to 5 marking the 184th birth anniversary of its founder, Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata. Vehicles are not allowed in the area, however, drive-ins to view the illumination will be opened from 10 pm to 11 pm for which entry will be allowed from the Sonari side gate.

Preparations are in full swing to celebrate the occasion
JAMSHEDPUR: Steel City residents can see the illumination from the Jubilee Park which will open from 5 pm to 6.30 pm for three days from March 3 to 5 marking the 184th birth anniversary of its founder, Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata. Vehicles are not allowed in the area, however, drive-ins to view the illumination will be opened from 10 pm to 11 pm for which entry will be allowed from the Sonari side gate.

Tata Group, which is organising the celebrations, said all visitors will be frisked by a team of private security guards and police at entry points. The organisers also said 26 CCTV cameras have been installed at different points of the park for surveillance. Magistrates will also be deployed to avert any kind of law and order crisis, they said, highlighting that entry to the park can be made from Sonari and Sakchi side gates.
On the events lined up for March 3, the organisers said a pageantry parade by social organisations, a horse riders’ parade, an NCC cadets’ parade, skits and nukkad nataks will mark the opening day. For the convenience of the visitors, traffic diversion will be made on the opening day near the Bistupur Postal Park from 8 am to 11 am.
