3 die, 4 hurt as trucks collide in Jodhpur

Jodhpur: Three persons died and four injured in a road accident when a truck smashed into another stationary truck on Jodhpur-Bilara highway on Tuesday. Both trucks were coming to Jodhpur. A truck approaching from behind hit a stationary truck, parked at the roadside. After the collision, the stationary truck rolled down the road and overturned.
SHO (Bilara) Bhavar Lal said that a truck was coming from Udaipur carrying marble tiles.The driver of this truck parked it at the edge of the road due to some technical snag in the night near Kaparda. “Around 6.30am, a truck loaded with equipment of swings meant to be installed in a fair in Jodhpur hit the tile-laden truck. It has come to the notice prima facie that this truck could not notice the stationary truck parked at the road side due to low visibility caused by fog,” said the officer.
The deceased have been identified as Narayan Singh (27) from Rajsamand and Salman (25) and Wakar (25) from Bulandshar (UP). All the three died during treatment in the hospital.
