Teachers launch poster drive against edu min in Jodhpur
Jodhpur: A teachers’ association has put up several posters targeting education minister Madan Dilawar at major intersections in Jodhpur city to protest the education department’s frequent withdrawal of its own orders.
The posters put up by Rajasthan Panchayati Raj and Secondary Teachers’ Union (RPRSTU) term Dilawar as ‘Paltu Ram’ (turncoat). RPRSTU state coordinator Shambhu Singh Meratia said the posters were put up in Jodhpur after news about CM Bhajanlal Sharma’s scheduled visit to Jodhpur surfaced.

“The union wanted to convey this message to the CM, urging him to evaluate the education minister’s performance. We want a review of how many orders were issued and how many were withdrawn by the education department,” he said.
Meratia said every employee and officer of the education department is currently in a state of confusion. “The situation has become such that orders from the previous govt are still in effect in the department. Hundreds of teachers in the state are still awaiting promotions. There are 3,700 teachers who currently have no work, which poses a major obstacle to the future of the state’s children,” he said.
Demanding that the CM strip Dilawar of the education portfolio, Meratia said the union has warned that its next step would be waging a poster war in the state capital—outside the CM’s residence, at the education complex, and other important locations in Jaipur.
