Jodhpur: The police arrested two persons on Sunday for killing a woman and injuring two others, including one-year daughter of the victim in Lamba village of Bilara in Jodhpur.
The accused had entered the house of the victim on Saturday night with an intention of loot after making sure that she was alone at the home. But their plan went awry when she woke up and identified the accused.
As she raised an alarm, they caught her and slit her throat with a knife. Her niece, who was also present in the house, rushed to the roof shouting for help. But the accused brought her down and injured her also along with one-year daughter of the victim before fleeing.
Accused have been identified as E-Mitra operator in neighbourhood Anil (20) and Sahil Khan (19). They have admitted to the crime.
SP (Jodhpur Rural) Dharmendra Singh Yadav said that family of Mahendra, a resident of Lamba, had gone to attend a wedding in the village just 500 metre away. His wife Anjali, 27, and daughter Kavya, along with niece Kusum , 12, chose to remain at home due to cold.
The police initiated a search for the accused based on the information provided by the girl and arrested them early Sunday morning from their houses.
