Kannauj minor girl’s medicalexamination confirms rape

Kanpur: Police confirmed on Tuesday that the 15-year-old girl who accused ex-block pramukh Nawab Singh Yadav of sexual assault was indeed raped on night of August 11.
Kannauj SP Amit Kumar Anand stated, “The girl’s medical examination has been done, and she was raped. After that, her statement was recorded before the magistrate. Now, we will add the section of rape in the FIR.We will also investigate the involvement of her paternal aunt.”
Kannauj Police arrested the former block pramukh for allegedly attempting to rape the minor late Sunday, triggering a war of words between the BJP and SP. While the BJP functionaries launched a broadside on social media claiming that the accused, Nawab Singh Yadav, was an SP neta and close to its first family, the district SP chief said that he was no longer associated with the party. A forensic team on Tuesday visited Nawab Singh Yadav’s degree college and collected evidence from the scene. They inspected the management room, where Yadav was caught by the police, for about two hours and took samples. The police are also investigating the CCTV cameras installed in the college and have confiscated the DVR. They believe the footage will reveal how the survivor reached the college on Sunday night and what transpired there. Additionally, the police are examining Nawab Singh Yadav's criminal history. They have released a list of 15 cases registered against him, including rioting, robbery, assault, fraud, kidnapping, damaging government property, Goonda Act, and murderous assault.
According to police, the girl claimed that she had arrived at the residence of Yadav accompanied by her paternal aunt late Sunday evening to have a discussion regarding a job she had been assured of.
