Kochi: Nefertiti luxury cruise vessel owned by Kerala State Inland Navigation Corporation (KSINC) will start its first service of this tourist season on Sunday.
According to KSINC source, the vessel was not operational during rainy season as there was no rush of passengers.
The Egyptian-themed cruise vessel launched its service in Kochi in 2018. After the launch, the luxury air-conditioned vessel worth Rs 16.14 crore was drydocked for the first time in May 2023.
Then it resumed service in Nov. The services were stopped in June when monsoon began.
KSINC sources said the flow of tourists is expected to begin next week.
The three-storey vessel, with a capacity of 200 passengers, houses an auditorium, a hall, a restaurant, a play area for children and a 3D theatre. It was designed for hosting destination parties, receptions, corporate events, product launches, meetings, get-togethers, etc. The vessel gave a major boost to the cruise tourism based in Kochi as it managed to attract a large number of domestic tourists.
