Weekend starts on pleasant note as rain cools Ludhiana

Ludhiana: The city cooled off with around 25 millimetres of rainfall on Friday night. The meteorological department has forecast more weather disturbance in the next few days. The sky was overcast on Friday evening and it rained at night. The sky was overcast on Saturday morning too but the sun made an intermittent appearance.
The meteorological department said that 24.6 millimetres of rain was recorded in Ludhiana between 8.30am on Friday and 8.30am on Saturday.

No rain was recorded between 8.30am and 5.30pm on Saturday.
Maximum temperature in the city was recorded at 32.8 degree Celsius, which is 0.3 degree less than normal but equal to the day before. Minimum (night) temperature was recorded at 25 degrees Celsius, 1.1 degrees above normal but 0.5 degree less than a day before.
The meteorological department forecast for Sunday is, “Partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.” The forecast for Monday and Tuesday is, “partly cloudy sky” and for Wednesday, it is “partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.” Maximum temperature in the city is expected to rise to 37 degrees Celsius by Thursday while night temperature might hover at 25 degrees Celsius till Wednesday and rise to 26 degrees on Thursday.
Gurjinder Singh, a resident said that the rain had made the weather pleasant but they had to be careful while going out due to waterlogging on roads.
