Ludhiana: A realtor from Guru Gobind Singh Nagar was robbed of Rs 27,000 cash in his office at gunpoint. Two masked men barged into his office as their accomplice waited outside.
They threatened the realtor at gunpoint and swords and robbed him. The incident was captured in a CCTV camera installed at the spot.
A case has been filed against the three men on the complaint of the victim, Paramjit Mehta, 61.
The case was filed under sections 304 (snatching), 3 (5) (Criminal act done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of BNS and Arms Act.
Paramjit Mehta said that he and his son Rahul are realtors. He works in the office in the morning while his son comes in the afternoon. At around 11am on Thursday, the accused barged in with a sword and pistol.
He said that the accused placed the pistol on the table and threatened him, demanding whatever cash he had.
Mehta said, “I had some cash in the pocket of the kurta I was wearing which I gave to the robbers. Thereafter, they asked me to hand over the wallet also. I gave my wallet to the accused, from which they took out cash. While fleeing, the accused threatened me and said not to chase them.”
The victim added that one of their accomplices was waiting on a bike outside the office and they sped away.
Investigating officer from Daba police station, ASI Sohan Das said that the police registered a case against the accused.
CCTV cameras installed inside and outside the office captured the accused but they were masked. Also, the bike on which they came did not have a number plate. The number plate on its front side had been covered. Police are trying to trace the accused.
