Ludhiana: The government railway police (GRP) have arrested two persons with 1 kg opium at Dhandari Kalan railway station. The accused have been identified as Anil Kumar, resident of Navada Rudarpur village and Manmohan Rajput, resident of Khanpura village in Uttar Pradesh. They were arrested from platform number 1 of the railway station. A case under sections 18, 61, 85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against them.
Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Pakhar Singh, who is the investigation officer, said the accused brought opium from Uttar Pradesh and had plans to sell it in here. tnn
