Bijnor: A constable and a sub inspector of the UP Police were suspended in Bijnor on Sunday after victim gave audio recordings to senior officers, in which the cops were heard demanding bribes from them.
SP Neeraj Kumar Jadaun said, “Call recordings of two police personnel including a sub-inspector Vinod Pandey and constable Amit Kumar were doing rounds on social media platforms in which they were seen demanding undue benefits from a man.
We have suspended them .”
Bijnor police said, “Mobile call or video recordings led to suspension of 40 cops in last 15 months in Bijnor. The SP has warned all the police personnel and directed them not to show indifference, laxity towards their responsibilities, otherwise strict action will be taken against the concerned.”
This is not the first time when such incident happened in Bijnor as earlier senior sub-inspector Pramod Kumar was suspended for misbehaving and thrashing a minor boy on June 2.
