One killed, 17 injured as two buses overturn in UP's Muzaffarnagar

MUZAFFARNAGAR: Two buses collided near Bhagenla checkpost on the Delhi-Dehradun national highway, died one person and injuries to 17 others, according to police reports on Saturday. The mishap occurred within the jurisdiction of Kotwali police station area.
Circle Officer (CO) Rupali Rao identified the deceased as Ramgopal (35), who was driving one of the buses involved in the accident.

She explained that the chain of events unfolded when the driver of the first bus applied brakes to avoid colliding with an e-rickshaw, causing the driver of the second bus to follow suit.
Unfortunately, this led to both buses overturning, with one of them falling into a roadside ditch.
"The police reached the spot immediately after receiving the information about the incident and initiated a rescue operation," Rao stated. She further mentioned that all the injured individuals have been transported to the hospital for medical attention.
It has been reported that both buses were traveling from Rajasthan to Haridwar in Uttarakhand at the time of the accident.
