While Nashikites have begun preparations ahead of the festival, the police have also started conducting meetings with Ganesh mandals in their respective jurisdictions to ensure that the Ganapati mandal members are aware of the do’s and don'’ts.
Senior PI Jitendra Sapkale of the Upnagar police station said, “We are asking Ganesh mandal members to ensure that they put up CCTV cameras near their respective tableaus. This will not only help detect crimes like thefts, pick-pocketing, or missing children, but it will also deter criminals from indulging in criminal activities.”
In view of the recent communal incidents, the police are asking Ganapati mandals to ensure the tableaus they put up do not hurt the religious sentiments of people. Apart from this, the mandal members have been told that the pandals they put up do not end up disturbing the vehicular flow of traffic on the road.
