Nashik: A 15-year-old boy was detained on Sunday on the charge of trying to kill a 40-year-old man near the Central Bus Stand (CBS) in the city around 2.30pm the same day.
The Sarkarwada police said the detained boy assaulted the man with a paver block. "The victim's identity is yet to be ascertained as he has suffered serious injuries. He is not in a position to speak to provide more information about himself.

Initial investigation has, however, showed that the victim led a life on the streets," the police said.
The juvenile in conflict with the law also resided on the streets. The police said the boy and the victim got into a brawl over some issue on Sunday afternoon, following which the boy picking up a paver block and hit the man with it. "Passersby raised an alarm and called the police. By the time the police arrived, the boy had escaped the scene. The victim was rushed to the Nashik civil hospital," the police said.
The crime branch unit 1 of the city police swung into action and traced the boy, who told the police that the man was hurling abuses at him, following which he got angry and attacked the man with a paver block he found on the road. The Sarkarwada police are investigating the case further.
The Sarkarwada police have registered an FIR for offences punishable under Section 109 (attempt to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita in the case.
