Nashik: The Nashik Road police on Friday arrested a man on the charge of allegedly raping his 17-year-old daughter, who has learning difficulties.
On the complaint of the girl’s mother, the Nashik Road police registered an FIR for offences punishable under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.
The complainant, a migrant worker, stated in her complaint that her husband raped their daughter on Thursday afternoon when he was at home alone with the girl.
Senior inspector Ashok Giri, of the Nashik Road police station, said the accused man had escaped to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Soon after the complaint was lodged, a police team went to the man’s native village in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and arrested him. He will be produced in front of the court on Saturday for his police custody.
