Nashik RTO warns pvt bus operators against inflating fares during festive season
Nashik: The Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Nashik has directed private bus operators to refrain from charging people beyond the maximum fare limits set for various routes. Private bus passengers with complaints of overcharging can write to [email protected] to enable the authorities initiate appropriate action.
Nashik RTO head Pradeep Shinde said a significant surge was expected in the number of bus passengers during the upcoming festive period.

"Keeping this in mind, an order has been issued to private bus operators against overcharging passengers. We are deploying officers to ensure proper implementation of the order," he said.
The officers' visit to the offices travel firms was aimed at keeping the private bus operators well-informed about the RTO's decision and preventing cases of overcharging.
RTO officials said a large number of people travel to native places during the 10-day Ganapati festival. Similarly, there is also a huge rush of bus passengers during the Navratra festival. However, the maximum rush of bus passengers is observed during Diwali in Nashik, they said.
