Price of coriander leaves shoot up in Nashik
Nashik: The average wholesale price of coriander leaves in the Nashik Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) has increased by 150% in the last four days because of a drop in supply compared to demand.
The average wholesale price of coriander leaves has gone up from Rs76 a bunch on Aug 29 to Rs190 a bunch on Sept 1. The minimum and maximum wholesale prices were recorded at Rs 60 and Rs 230 a bunch, respectively.

According to APMC officials, the arrivals of coriander leaves have dropped from 850 quintals a day to around 400 quintals a day due to the drop in supply caused by rains.
"The rain in the past few days has made farmers unable to harvest coriander leaves. Moreover, the rain damaged the plant to some extent. This overall led to a drop in arrivals of coriander leaves, leading to a rise in wholesale prices at the APMC," said an APMC official.
Moreover, the average wholesale price of fenugreek also increased by 48% in the last four days due to a drop in supply compared to demand. The average wholesale price of fenugreek increased from Rs35 a bunch on Aug 29 to Rs52 a bunch on Sept 1 at the Nashik APMC.
The minimum and maximum wholesale prices of fenugreek were recorded at Rs 20 and Rs 69 a bunch, respectively, at Nashik APMC on Sunday. APMC officials said that the supply of coriander leaves and fenugreek will improve after the rains are over.
