NASHIK: The Ahmednagar police arrested a 36-year-old woman and her 31year-old paramour on the charge of murdering her husband.
The police said that they had found the body of an unidentified person in Pachegaon in Newasa in Ahmednagar district. The Newasa police had thus registered a case of
murder against an unidentified person.
The police visited the crime scene and inspected it closely.
They also tried to ascertain the identity of the deceased person. However, as the identity could not be ascertained, the police checked the footage of CCTVs near the crime spot for seven days and subsequently found a suspicious car moving in the area.
The police then found that the owner of the car was Ambadas Bhanudas Mhaske, a resident of Ramabai Nagar in Jalna.
While searching for the owner of the car, the police noticed that his phone was switched off for close to three weeks. When they garnered information about his wife, they found that she was Meena Mhaske, who was staying in a rented room in Pune. On tracing her in Pune, she was found residing with a man, Lahu Shivaji Damre.
On questioning them, the police learned that they both had an affair and Meena was unhappy with her husband as he doubted her character. She had thus plotted with Damre to kill her husband. On the pretext of going to Pune, they took her husband in his car and later murdered him on the way.
