NAVI MUMBAI: The death toll in the July 15 Mumbai-Pune Expressway mishap rose to seven on Sunday after two more people succumbed to their injuries at MGM hospital in Navi Mumbai.
The collision happened between a tractor and a bus ferrying pilgrims from Bombivli to Pandharpur temple for Aashadhi Ekadashi.
The deceased were identified as Ganpat Mukadam (65) and Baburao Bhoir (70).

Initially, five people, including three pilgrims (Warkaris) and two men travelling in the tractor had died and 44 others in the bus sustained injuries.
The collision sent the bus and tractor hurtling down a 20-feet gorge after breaking the expressway’s crash barrier on the left. The bus was carrying 54 pilgrims.
